Sycamore House represents a true community hub for recreational activities and neighborly interaction in Willowsford. The centerpiece of The Grange, Sycamore House will engage residents and guests by interweaving the history of the area with local food and wine appreciation, social gatherings, and opportunities for relaxation.
In keeping with the area's agricultural heritage, the design for Sycamore House is reminiscent of a countryside manor with a sophisticated, classic look and understated elegance. The rambling "estate" will also include the Tenant House (one of two community information centers) constructed using re-purposed stone and wood from a historical structure built on the property circa 1800. The Tenant House overlooks a grassy outdoor amphitheatre. A conservatory will span the south side of Sycamore House, opening onto a large village green surrounded by "country-formal" gardens with a fish pond, conversation spots and a resort-style swimming pool with cabanas and a sun ledge.
A highlight of Sycamore House will be its professionally-inspired teaching and demonstration kitchen designed to host an array of culinary programs and events, with periodic visits by local and celebrity chefs and the integration of fresh produce from nearby Willowsford Farm.
Sycamore House construction begins in late 2012, with the Tenant House information center now open daily 11-6pm.
